Winter To Spring Capsule Wardrobe | Petite Plus Style

When you love to shop, doing a low buy is tough. For 2022 I decided to embark on a low buy and because I’m not shopping nearly as much as I used to, I’m turning my attention to maximizing my wardrobe. The best way to do that? Create a capsule wardrobe.

A capsule wardrobe is incredibly helpful to learn to wear what you own. It’s also an excellent way of getting yourself out of a clothing rut because you’re forced to get creative on how you wear your clothes. I tend to take the approach of creating modules, which are smaller capsules within the capsule. If your unfamiliar with modules they are 5 - 6 piece mini capsules encompassed of an outer layer, a few bottoms, and a few tops. They can be centered around a color, style, or function (i.e., work, casual, occasion wear).

I am a bit flexible when it comes to capsule wardrobe rules. For instance, I don’t count shoes, handbags, and other accessories in my capsule. To me, these items add the spice to the recipe, and give the capsule flavor. Ideally, I try to make the modules interchangeable, meaning they can be combined to work together as a larger capsule.

So, I have decided that for 2022 I’m creating a new capsule each month, with 2 modules. We’ll see how it goes. In this installment, I kick it off with the February module that has a bit of a season transition angle to it. I hope you enjoy it. If you do, make sure to like the video and subscribe, too!
