The Jewelry Pieces You Need for Classic Style

I love a good makeover. With my new found style mission of infusing my wardrobe with quality pieces, I have to say I’ve had most fun working on elevating my jewelry collection.

In the last few months I’ve brought in a few pieces from Monica Vinader, Ana Luisa, and Mejuri. Of course, the transformation began pre-pandemic with the addition of the Springtime Allegory necklace from Pamela Card, and a pair of pave huggies from Missoma. I am so excited for all of them; they’ve given my wardrobe an understated minimal elegance.

Of course, I have stuck to pieces that I feel are new classics. They maintain the elements of classic jewelry pieces but in an updated, modern way. Even still, they are timeless pieces that do just as well with casual looks as they do with elevated, dressier looks.

Earrings

My favorite accessory are earrings and my favorite type is the hoop earring. I think we should all have at least one pair, but ideally, we should have several pairs of different sizes, thicknesses, and finishes. My favorite style is a chunky hoop, and I’m showing one from Mejuri. Sadly, it’s no longer available but I’ll have similar options listed below.

Necklaces

I love to layer my necklaces and vary the textures, weight, and length of them to add visual interest. Of course, I also enjoy wearing one statement necklace from time to time to punctuate my look with. Which is why I recommend you have many different styles so that you can mix and match and keep your jewelry game fresh.

Rings

Lately I’ve taken to building up my ring stacks because I love the statement they make. And similar to layering necklaces, you want to have a variety of styles from a bold cocktail ring to several with pave crystals, and light and dainty ones to vary the texture of your stack.

I’m still in the process of building my ring stacks but am thoroughly enjoying how they look. My stacks are all from Analuisa who create beautiful sustainable pieces that are high quality gold vermeil.

Pearls

I’ve classified pearls separately because pearls really do stand out as a category of it’s own. While a string of pearls is a classic look, it can be a bit dated. Instead, I’ve been expressing my love of pearls in a more modern way by going with natural pearls, that have their own unique shape and finish, or pearls used in new and different ways like the huggie style from Mejuri. Another absolute favorite are my Monica Vinader pearl drop earrings which look as fantastic with jeans and a t-shirt as with a gown.

So that’s my current take on jewelry and how I’ve approached transitioning my collection from costume to finer pieces. We all deserve to have a lovely collection of pieces that will give us style no matter what we’re wearing.
