Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder

I’ve found my perfect setting powder!  The Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting powder is my new holy grail.  Peach Perfect powder released earlier this year as part of the Too Faced Peaches & Cream collection but I refrained from trying it simply because I’d been having a love affair with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Pressed powder.  But, after watching several reviews over the last few months on YouTube, I finally caved and bought it.  Boy, am I glad I did.

The Peach Perfect powder is a dream.  First, it’s infused with peach and fig cream, and has a lovely peach scent and flavor.  Yes, flavor.  You may ask how I know this?  Well, when you apply it to your face, especially if you use a brush, powder kicks up and gets into your mouth.  It happens with any loose powder, really, it’s just that this one happens to be sweet.  For me, it’s not an issue.  If this worries you, you can use a beauty sponge to apply it, which will reduce, or outright eliminate, the kick up.  I’m happy to report that like all Too Faced products, the Peach Perfect powder is certified cruelty free.

The Peach Perfect powder is very finely milled, and despite being translucent, it has a soft pink tint which acts to brighten, and will work for many skin tones.  It goes on beautifully, perfecting the skin by camouflaging the pores.  To be honest, the first application took my breath away, I looked like I had been Face Tuned on the spot.  I really love how perfected my skin looks with this powder.  This product also claims to control oil, and I have to say, it meets that claim.  My t-zone is my problem area and this powder does a fantastic job of keeping shine under control all day long, with any foundation I’ve paired it with.

I usually use a beauty sponge to apply the powder, this helps to really press it into the skin without disturbing my foundation; I’ve found that using a beauty sponge enhances the blurring effects of this powder.  If you’re not a beauty sponge fan, don’t fret – it goes on beautifully with a brush as well.  It mattifies without being too drying, and will take away any dewiness your foundation may impart.  While I wouldn’t recommend this powder for dry skin, I don’t find that it’s overly drying on my combo/normal to oily skin, and it doesn’t emphasize lines like other loose powders tend to do.  In all honesty, the skin does appear a bit powdery initially, but is not dissimilar to any other loose setting powder; truth be told – it’s nothing a good setting spray can’t eliminate with a few spritzes.  While I don’t bake often, I will say this powder can be used for baking with very nice results.

The packaging is typical for a loose setting powder, coming in a tub with 1.23 oz of product.  Unlike most, the sifter has a lid which snaps shut.  I will say that I love this little detail, nothing irks me more than having powder spill out – it makes for a mess and if you know anything about me by reading other blog posts, I really hate messy.  This is especially convenient if you need to take it on the go.  The packaging is distinctly Too Faced, being adorable with peaches both on the lid and on the sifter – such a cute little touch! The gold detail is very pretty and looks really nice on my vanity.

I have truly enjoyed using this powder for the last few weeks and highly recommend it, especially if you have oily skin.  Since using the Peach Perfect powder, I’ve had many good skin days that I attribute to it.  If you can live with the scent and taste, then I really urge you to try it!

Have you tried the Peach Perfect powder?  If so, what have your experiences been with it?
