Lipstick Week: Lip Balms, Scrubs, & Plumpers

After a grueling week of Lipstick Week swatches, my lips really needed some TLC.  It got me to thinking about the various lip balms, scrubs, and plumpers that I’ve tried.  Given that we’re in the middle of the winter months, I thought I’d provide some bonus Lipstick Week content and share this as a blog post today. Overall, the lip products I’m featuring are really supplemental lip products that help prep the lips for whatever lip look you have in mind.  They’re also there to protect and repair the lips, and for me, to provide additional comfort when wearing matte lipsticks, whether they be liquid or standard bullets.  But enough with the jibber jabber, let’s get into it. Lip Balms Chap Stick.  Yes, good old fashioned Chap Stick is a must have for me when I’m wearing matte liquid lipsticks.  I really like the waxiness of the Chap Stick formula because it provides an excellent barrier between my lips and the matte lip product without affecting the formula too much.  I’ve got the moisturizing Chap Stick pictured here, but honestly I don’t discriminate, any Chap Stick will do. Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm in Pink.  On those days when I’m either going bare faced or with a very natural look, I like to wear my Dior Addict Lip Glow balm.  It imparts a little bit of color by reacting to body chemistry which is very flattering.  The mango butter in the formula provides a little bit of shine and loads of hydration.  It also has SPF 10, which is an added bonus. Shisedo Benefiance Full Correction Lip Treatment.  I really enjoy using this as a lip treatment after…

Lipstick Week: Besame Lipsticks Swatches & Review

I really love old Hollywood glam.  Besame Cosmetics has taken that love of old school glamour to heart, they produce faithful reproductions of colors and formulas from era’s past.  Their product line includes such items as mascara cakes, blushes, powders, brushes, lipsticks, and even perfumes that throwback to the 1920’s.  Even the packaging has a retro feel.  Me, being a true lipstick junkie, really appreciate the lipsticks in the line.  I really have been enjoying most of them, they’re fully pigmented and have a very nice formula and remind me so much of my grandmother and the make up she used. I really love this line because it’s different, and I can appreciate the care that creator, Gabriela Hernandez has taken to recreate makeup that pays homage to the past and how women appreciated makeup when it was simple yet extremely glamorous. Well, with that I’m wrapping up Lipstick Week.  I really hope you’ve enjoyed it; it’s been loads of fun putting it together! Lipstick Week: Best of ColourPop Lipsticks

Day 4 of Lipstick Week is here, and frankly at this point, my lips are close to departing my face and taking an extended vacation. Today, I’m featuring my ColourPop lipstick favorites.  In order to keep my lip swatch video to a reasonable length, I’ve decided to hone in on 3 specific formulas – Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks, Matte X lipsticks, and Matte lipsticks.  I’m only showing 3 – 4 shades of each as I’ve got A LOT of ColourPop lippies in my collection.  We’re in the home stretch, I really hope you’ve been enjoying Lipstick Week! Lipstick Week: Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks

Hello my friends!  Day three of Lipstick Week features the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks with swatches and review.  I think the overarching theme for Lipstick Week is comfort, and the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche line fits the bill! Besides the food grade ingredients in the formula, the color range for the Amuse Bouche line is extensive at 34 shades so there’s something for everyone.  I own a fraction of the line, at only 8 but trust me, I’m always down for buying another one.  I really hope you’ve been enjoying Lipstick Week; if you have any favorites in the Amuse Bouche line, please let me know in the comments or feel free to comment on the video itself!  Thanks so much for watching, and enjoy! Lipstick Week: Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lip Color Swatches & Review

I really, really love lipstick.  I’m in a fully committed relationship with it.  That said, I’ve decided to run a Lipstick Week series on my YouTube channel devoted to showcasing some of my current favorite lipstick lines.  The series will take place over 5 days with each day focusing on a different brand and will include swatches and review. The first installment in the series is featuring the Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lip Color which is probably one of the most comfortable lipsticks I own.  The color range is pretty extensive at 15 shades, however, I’ve only been able to get my hands on 7 of them.  Still, I think it’s a good representation of the line.  What I truly like about this particular lipstick is that it has hyaluronic acid, which is very conditioning.  If you suffer from dry lips (especially right now, in the dead of winter) your lips will thank you for wearing these.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy watching my lip swatch & review of the Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lip Color and please, let me know what you think of the line, if you’ve worn these; or if you haven’t, which color you’d like to give a try!
