Makeup Treasure: ColourPop

Today, I’d like to talk a bit about ColourPop cosmetics, a treasure in cosmetics today.  They’re an LA based company that have been around for a little over a year; in that time, they’ve caught on in You Tube circles and are big favorite amongst beauty bloggers.  I’ve purchased quite a few products from them and they are all really awesome while not breaking the bank. FYI – they also also carry blushes, bronzers, and cheek highlighters but I’m not as adept with cream face products, and don’t use them as much, so I didn’t feature them here.  ColourPop’s products are very well priced from $5 – $8; truly a bargain for the quality these products deliver! The ColourPop Super Shock eyeshadows are stunning.  They come in a variety of finishes from matte to ultra metallic, some with duo chrome and glitters, and they last all day with or without primer.  The consistency of these shadows is very unique – spongy, mousse like, with a powder finish.  They’re very much like the Chanel Illusion D’Ombre shadows or Diorshow Fusion shadows, with a wider color and finish selection at a fraction of the price. Liquid lipsticks are all the rage at the moment, with nearly every single cosmetic line jumping on the bandwagon.  ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks come in a wide range of colors and are currently my favorite liquid lipsticks.  For the record, More Better is the Best. Color. EVER.  Word of caution:  If you suffer from dry, chapped lips it’s best to use a lip balm prior to applying. And then there’s the ColourPop Lippie Sticks.  The matte formula stands out most for me…

Fall Floral

For a long time, I wasn’t about florals – I stayed clear of anything that had a flower on it, thinking it too girly and conservative for me.  In the past year I’ve changed my opinion of florals, designers have taken them to another level.  When I saw this shirt from CAbi, I immediately thought it was very rock and roll (which is why I paired it with a moto style jacket), plus it reminded me of sugar skulls and the Dia de los Muertos for some reason.  I love that the flowers on this shirt are orange and yellow – orange is a favorite color of mine, as you can find in my post about it here.  This shirt is extremely versatile; fair warning – you’ll probably see it pop up on this blog throughout the fall/winter season. Current Favorites: Nightly Skincare Routine

Since my birthday in August, I’ve been trying to nail down both a morning and night time skin care routine.  I’ve had best luck with finding my night time skin care routine.  When it comes to skincare at the end of a long day, sometimes, I really have to push myself to do it but this combination is worth the time.  The appearance and texture of my skin has improved significantly with using these products, which makes makeup application so easy in the mornings.  Below are the products I’ve been trying out and have settled on.  Keep in mind, my opinions are based solely on my personal experience with these products. Let’s start out with with eye makeup removal.  This is probably the best eye makeup remover at the drugstore.  It’s inexpensive and gets the job done, even does a pretty good job at removing lash glue.  I bought mine at Target but you can get this anywhere Neutrogena products are sold. This cleansing milk from Soap & Glory is bomb!  It does a very good job of removing foundation and other face makeup without drying my skin, like regular soap can do.  It has a peachy mint smell that I first thought was weird, but have grown to really like.  And can we take a moment to appreciate the packaging?  I love Soap & Glory’s packaging, it’s so much fun!  You can purchase this directly from Soap & Glory, although I have heard Ulta will carry this brand soon. I’ve talked about the Dior Capture Totale Eyes serum in my August Favorites so I won’t rant too much about this other than to say, now that I’ve been using…
