August Favorites

I’m thrilled that we’ve made our way through August and are headed into Fall!  That said, I’d like to share a few of my obsessions from this last month.     Too Faced Born This Way Foundation:  This foundation  is SO good!  It’s probably the best liquid foundation I’ve used to date.  It makes my skin look like skin, provides medium to full coverage, and lasts all day, even through a workout.  LOVE!  Dior Capture Totale Eyes:  I’m really enjoying this serum.  I figured since I invest so much money in makeup, I should do the same for skincare.  The texture of the skin around my eyes improved within a few days. Clinique Cheek Pop in Berry Pop:  This blush gives a natural flush to the cheeks and is buildable.  Clinique’s packaging is absolutely spot on – the flower is so beautiful and there’s just something about the transparent compact that makes it eye candy at it’s finest. Makeup Forever Artist Shadows:  These shadows are so buttery and pigmented, and they blend like a dream.  They’re sold as singles; the cool thing is, when you buy these at Sephora, you can get either a two shadow or three shadow palette to put them in, which is great for travel or on the go.  The colors pictured here are M870, M546, and M928. Becca x Jacalyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed – Champagne Pop:  OMG, this highlighter is so amazing, you can be seen from space when you wear this!  It’s shimmery without being glittery and gives you a lovely, dewy glow.  It’s a beautiful champagne gold that’ll work with all skin tones. Working as a fashion designer can just as well mean supervising a design team at a sportswear company as producing a label under your own name. Although the former career may not seem as glamorous as the latter, it certainly will make your life less stressful. To create your own label takes a lot of time, dedication and hard work. Not to mention living just above the poverty line for several years. This is Heading Three However, most people find that the best foundation for a design career is to get a fine arts degree in fashion at a prestigious school. Besides teaching you the craft, a good school will also add credibility to your resumÈ. “We live in a brandname society, and having the name of a good school behind you really does help,” says Carol Mongo, Director of the Fashion Department at Parsons School of Design in Paris. There are as many different ways to embark upon a fashion career as there are styles of design. Ralph Lauren’s Polo empire was founded on a small tie collection that he sold to Bloomingdales. Helmut Lang decided to open his own clothing store when he couldn’t find a t-shirt that he liked. Michael Kors built up a network of customers by selling clothes in a trendy…
