Rose Gold Jewelry

I’m absolutely obsessed with rose gold, whether it be jewelry, makeup, shoes, clothing – it doesn’t matter, just spray me down with that copper toned stuff. I mean, my watch, which I wear every day, is rose gold. And OMG! I was really excited when Stella & Dot came out with some rose gold pieces. The Rebel Pendent, Pave Spear Earrings, and Tribute Bracelet are bomb! And I love to layer mixed metals, hence the charm bracelet – metallics are neutrals and neutrals always go with each other. So, now it’s your turn – do you like rose gold? How do you wear it? Do you mix it with other metals? Disclaimer: I am not sponsored by, or affiliated with, Stella & Dot – I just really love their stuff. You can find all kinds of beautiful rose gold jewelry pieces like here, here, here, and here…

Get Your Shine On!

Matte lipsticks are my favorite formula and are still all the rage – the 90’s revival is very much in full swing – that was where I was first introduced to matte lipstick, after all. As much as I love the matte trend, I’ve suffered from a wicked case of chapped lips this Winter and I’m in dire need of some relief! Spring is usually when glossier, more sheer, and creamier formulas begin to reemerge; below are a couple of brands that I’ve had a chance to try and have quickly become obsessed with. I’m presenting polar opposites today, the first an opaque gloss and the second a sheer lipstick. Nyx Intense Butter Gloss: These are so beautiful and very pigmented lip glosses, no need for lipstick here. They don’t feel sticky on the lips; you can definitely feel them there and not in a bad way. Tres Leches: a beautiful nude with pink undertones Chocolate Crepe: a very “of the moment” creamy chocolate with mauve undertones Toasted Marshmallow: a deep mauve with plum undertones Spice Cake (my favorite): a deep berry Berry Strudel: a straight up, cool toned purple Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick: I’m a huge fan of Urban Decay lipsticks and these sheers are the perfect compliment, either worn on top of their sister colors or alone. The formula is so creamy and has a great slip but don’t move around on your lips. Frankly, they make my lips feel fabulous. Sheer Rapture: dusty rose with mauve undertones Sheer Ladyflower: a wash of rose pink Sheer Shame: a sheer berry…

On Trend: Orange

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Just as we’re about to turn the corner into Spring, my thoughts turn to color. Traditionally, when you think of spring you think of pale pinks, blues, lavenders, greens, and peaches. But that’s not the case this season – this season, color is bold and dramatic. One of the standouts is my favorite, orange. Bold and daring, it screams look at me and revel in my orange-ness! Shades range from pale corals to screaming poppy. Orange pairs just as well with red and fuchsia, as it does with purple, blue, and even burgundy. I really love seeing it, my favorite being in the red-orange family like poppy, more so than the tangerine and yellow-y shades. I must admit, even oranges that dabble in the yellow spectrum are just as versatile. Orange is said to be the color of creativity and happiness and it does just that. In the summer months, when straight up red is a bit much, add a bit of orange to it and it sings Summertime! But enough rambling about this beautiful color; let’s talk fashion…. Designers have gone mad for this color this season – Diane von Furstenberg, Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli, and Jean Paul Gautier just to name a few. Other major retailers like Loft, Nordstrom, and Macy’s are also featuring this bold color. The color has even been seen at make up counters this season – NARS Audacious Lipstick in Geraldine is STUNNING and a great red alternative. A color as bright and saturated as orange elevates simple shapes like a sheath dress or a pencil skirt to new heights and makes the dress…
